About the role

Council is seeking capable and experienced Labourers to join the Works & Services Department on a fixed term basis. 

There are currently five (5) x fixed term positions available ending in June 2021. These positions work 38 hours per week, Monday to Friday (7am – 4pm), based at the Bomaderry Depot. 

Casual opportunities are also available for those merit listed for the role.


Reporting directly to the Team Supervisor – Northern Maintenance and Team Supervisor – Northern Construction, the focus of this position is to:

  • To undertake manual tasks using hand tools, including the operation of small plant items, for the minor construction and/or maintenance of roads, pathways and drainage systems as directed by the Supervisor and/or Ganger.
  • Assist in Council responses to emergencies and other operational needs, including being available for ‘call back’.

Skills & Experience

In order to be successful in the position, you will be/ possess:

  • School Certificate or equivalent
  • Minimum of 12 months’ work experience in civil construction and/or maintenance activities
  • NSW Class C Driver’s Licence or equivalent licence valid in NSW
  • Current SafeWork NSW General Construction Induction Card or recognised interstate General Construction Induction Training card
