About the role
Reporting directly to the Unit Manager – District Engineer, the focus of this position is to:
Consult with the Works & Services Section stakeholders, administer and implement WHS improvements across the Section by:
Promotion of a positive safety culture
Ongoing review of safety documentation
Facilitating meetings, inspections and workshops
Simplifying WHS processes
Duties
Reporting directly to the Unit Manager- District Engineer, the focus of this position is to:
Facilitate Council’s WHS System requirements in your designated work area through site visits, formal group meetings and workshops.
Conduct relevant site inspections, audits and hazard detection, and facilitate prompt remedial actions as required, monitoring and reviewing for effectiveness
Monitor and evaluate WHS performance and progress toward “best practice” and continuous improvement of the WHS System and the SafeWork NSW Insurers Model.
Skills & Experience
In order to be successful in the position, you will be/ possess:
A Certificate 4 in Work Health and Safety or Risk Management
Previous experience in a Work Health and Safety or Risk Management role
Demonstrated ability to implement change in processes and culture/safety
Current NSW General Construction Induction card (white card) or acceptable interstate alternative
Minimum NSW Class C driver’s licence or equivalent licence valid in NSW
