About the role

 Reporting directly to the Unit Manager – District Engineer, the focus of this position is to:

 Consult with the Works & Services Section stakeholders, administer and implement WHS improvements across the Section by:

  •       Promotion of a positive safety culture
  •       Ongoing review of safety documentation
  •       Facilitating meetings, inspections and workshops
  •       Simplifying WHS processes

Duties

 Reporting directly to the Unit Manager- District Engineer, the focus of this position is to:

  •  Facilitate Council’s WHS System requirements in your designated work area through site visits, formal group meetings and workshops.
  • Conduct relevant site inspections, audits and hazard detection, and facilitate prompt remedial actions as required, monitoring and reviewing for effectiveness
  • Monitor and evaluate WHS performance and progress toward “best practice” and continuous improvement of the WHS System and the SafeWork NSW Insurers Model.

Skills & Experience

 

 In order to be successful in the position, you will be/ possess:

  • A Certificate 4 in Work Health and Safety or Risk Management
  • Previous experience in a Work Health and Safety or Risk Management role
  • Demonstrated ability to implement change in processes and culture/safety
  • Current NSW General Construction Induction card (white card) or acceptable interstate alternative
  • Minimum NSW Class C driver’s licence or equivalent licence valid in NSW
