Unit Manager- Business Operations

Shoalhaven City Council is seeking a Manager for our Water Directorate Business Systems and Processes.

About the role

This is a full-time permanent role, Monday to Friday (35 hours per week) located in Nowra administration building. 

The advertised salary is based on the grade of the position, comprising of 4 steps within the range shown. Progression through the salary steps shall be based upon the achievement of performance objectives relating to the position.

Duties

Reporting directly to the Water Business Service Manager, the focus of this position is to:

  • Provide higher level business support to the Section Manager as required.
  • Support Group business operations, identify opportunities and create improvements to reporting and system outputs for all system and functions of the water group.
  • Develop, implement and drive business process improvements to maximize the Groups use of corporate IT platforms.
  • Liaise with corporate IT, provide system administration overview or responsibility as applicable in support of Group business software, website or database outputs.
  • Provide the key resources and manage the Groups responsibilities for the implementation of the corporate business system including the instigation of changes to regulatory, billing, customer, financial and reporting outputs.
  • Support and manage the functions and teams of water as required to support the business needs of the section and group.

Skills & Experience

In order to be successful in the position, you will be/ possess:

  • Degree qualification/experience in a related discipline commensurate with the essential requirements of the position.
  • Class C Driver’s Licence.
  • At least 10 years experience in either business systems or accounting or business improvement. 
  • Demonstrated strong leadership skills and ability to work in a busy team environment.
  • High level of experience in managing diverse customer service matters and proven ability in achieving positive outcomes in a timely manner. 

Council requires applicants for this position to undergo a National Criminal History Check during the recruitment process. This check will be at the expense of Council.
