Senior Facilities General Hand

Shoalhaven City Council is Seeking a Senior Facilities General Hand to join our Building Service Department.

About the role

This is a full time, 38 hours per week Monday to Friday located at Nowra Administration Building.


Reporting directly to the Team Supervisor – Building Management and Facilities, the focus of this position is to:

  • Provide assistance to the Team Supervisor – Building Management, as required.
  • Plan, setup and organise events and functions for Council’s Administrative Building, other Council owned facilities and other locations as required.
  • Monitor and action key building management systems and ensure key plant is operating within designed tolerances. These include but not limited to HVAC, electrical, fire, security and lifts. Arrange appropriate resources where a corrective action is required.
  • Undertake building maintenance and cleaning duties to assist the Building Management & Facility Services function.
  • Ensure the work area’s compliance with relevant legislation and Council policies and ensure that risks are managed.

Skills & Experience

In order to be successful in the position, you will be/ possess:

Grade 6

Grade 7


  • Minimum 2 years relevant building and/or construction experience.
  • Current National WHS Construction Card (WorkCover).
  • Current Class C Driver’s Licence.
  • Proof of Australian residency or citizenship 
  • Certificate III in Building and Construction trade or equivalent experience.
  • Current National WHS Construction Card (WorkCover).
  • Current Class C Driver’s Licence.
  • Proof of Australian residency or citizenship
