Bereavement Services Assistant

About the role
This is a full time permanent position, Monday to Friday 38 hours per week 7.00am to 4.00pm 


Duties
Reporting directly to the Bereavement Service Coordinator, the focus of this position is to:

  • To provide high standard funerary services including preparation and completion of graves, memorials and cremations in the cemeteries and crematorium
  • To provide high standard attention to detail in the care and maintenance of buildings, grounds, memorials and horticultural placements and in carrying out minor construction projects in the cemeteries and memorial gardens
  • To carry out all duties with sensitivity and respect for the deceased and the bereaved


Skills & Experience
In order to be successful in the position, you will be/ possess:

  • MR Drivers Licence
  • Current NSW WorkCover accredited First Aid Certificate
  • Current NSW WorkCover Construction Induction Certificate (White Card)
  • Current NSW WorkCover Confined Spaces Entry Certificate (or ability to obtain)
  • Current NSW WorkCover Traffic Controller Certificate

Council requires applicants for this position to undergo a National Criminal History Check during the recruitment process. This check will be at the expense of Council.
