About the role

This is a casual position with the potentional to work up to 38 hours per week. You will be providing Weed spraying at Council controlled sites throughout the Shoalhaven area.

Duties

Reporting directly to the Bio Security Coordinator, the focus of this position is to:

  • Weed spraying at Council controlled sites for scheduled weed control, vegetation management and insect control in accordance with industry standards. May undertake property inspections on public property for the purpose of identifying and regulating weeds scheduled in accordance with the Biosecurity Act 2015.
  • Weed spraying on other areas as directed.
  • Recording and mapping of areas sprayed as per the Pesticides Act.
  • Reporting on the presence of scheduled weeds as required.
  • Where necessary, advise the Weed Biosecurity Team Supervisor on the need to issue Biosecurity Directions as per the requirements of the Act.

Skills & Experience

In order to be successful in the position, you will be/ possess:

  • Current CHEMCERT or SMART TRAIN or equivalent pesticide handling training
  • Current Class C Driver’s Licence
  • Current National WHS Construction Card (WorkCover)
  • Proof of right to work in Australia
