About the role 

Shoalhaven Entertainment Centre is the Shoalhaven’s premier entertainment venue. As Chef, you will work a 38-hour week, balancing multiple outlets and food requirements, from external catering to restaurant service for show dining and a fully operational café. 


This opportunity allows you to gain recognition for your talents, showcasing local produce, creating a dining experience for the food loving clients of the Shoalhaven. 



Reporting directly to the Food, Beverage & Events Coordinator, the focus of this position is: 

  • Menu planning, preparing and costing; ordering for the delivery of food services. This includes the café operations, show dining, external catering, catering riders, catering for conferences, meetings, awards and events evenings, direction and delegation of staff. 

Skills & Experience 

In order to be successful in the position, you will be/ possess:  

  • Certificate III or equivalent qualification in Hospitality/Catering or related field 
  • Catering and café experience 2 years minimum
  • Class C Driver’s Licence
  • Responsible Service of Alcohol
  • Working With Children Check 
  • Food Safety Supervisor Certificate 

This position requires a current NSW Working with Children Check. Applicants are required to apply and pay for this check if not already obtained.

  2. Please provide a sample breakfast and lunch café menu.  Three hot selling items for breakfast and lunch, taking into consideration current food trends and dietary concerns. 
  3. Please describe the experience you possess in catering for large-scale events of up to 500 people.   
  4. Please provide a sample menu of 2 entrees, 2 mains and 2 desserts that would be suitable to serve at a large-scale event for approximately 500 people, with one meal from each course being vegan.
  5. Please provide a sample bar snacks menu, suitable for fast service for show evenings. 
  6. This position requires an NSW Working With Children Check, please provide your Working With Children Check number.
