About the role
This is a permanent full-time position working 38 hours per week (7.15am to 5.15pm).

A monthly roster will be developed to support the business which operates 7 days a week. Incumbents will be required to work weekend and public holiday shifts.

You will work on a rotational basis between West Nowra, Huskisson, and Ulladulla. You will also be required to work at the 7 other sites including Kangaroo Valley, Berry, Callala, Sussex Inlet, Bendalong, Lake Conjola, and Kioloa as required.

Duties
Reporting directly to the Team Supervisors Waste Operations, the focus of this position is to:

  • Operate in accordance with adopted management plans and procedures to ensure the safe and efficient operation of SCC Recycling and Waste Depots.
  • Work within a team undertaking multiple waste collection, acceptance, disposal and recycling duties that compliment Council’s waste landfilling operations by diverting reusable or recyclable items from landfill.

Skills & Experience
In order to be successful in the position, you will be/ possess:

  • Certificate 2 in Waste Management, Civil Construction or equivalent experience
  • Previous experience in a waste management or civil construction or maintenance environment
  • Class C Driver’s Licence
  • Hold or be willing to obtain a current SafeWork NSW Construction Induction Card (i.e. White Card) • Proof of Australian residency or citizenship
  • Demonstrated ability to provide high level customer service
  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to WHS principles and practices
  • Ability and willingness to undertake physical manual work
  • Basic computer operation skills
