About the role
This is a permanent, full time, Monday to Sunday position working 38 hours per week.

You will work on a rotational basis between West Nowra, Huskisson, and Ulladulla. You will also be required to work at the 7 other sites including Kangaroo Valley, Berry, Callala, Sussex Inlet, Bendalong, Lake Conjola, and Kioloa as required.

Reporting directly to the Waste Operations Coordinator, the focus of this position is to:

  • Oversee Waste and Recycling operations at Council’s licensed waste facilities at, West Nowra Huskisson, Ulladulla and former landfills at Ulladulla, Sussex Inlet and North Nowra to ensure they are operated in accordance with Environmental Protection Agency requirements, Council’s Management Plans and regulations.
  • Oversee Waste and Recycling operations at Council’s unlicensed waste facilities including the smaller transfer stations at Berry, Kangaroo Valley, Callala, Bendalong, Lake Conjola and Kioloa.
  • Supervision of reporting staff and daily operations including rostering and weekend duties.

On call – Being available to be on-call and complete reasonable overtime is a requirement of this position.

Skills & Experience
In order to be successful in the position, you will be/ possess:

  • Tertiary qualification (Cert 3) in management, civil construction, waste management or equivalent experience
  • Experience in supervising and guiding work teams and contractors to deliver specified outcomes and an ability to manage a multi-faceted operation across a number of sites.
  • Current Class C Driver’s License
  • Willing to obtain or hold a current Workcover Construction Induction Training Card (i.e. white card)
