About the role
This is a permanent, full time, Monday to Sunday position working 35 hours per week.

The advertised salary is based on the grade of the position, comprising of 4 steps within the range shown. The starting salary is at Step 1 within the grade. Progression through the salary steps shall be based upon the achievement of performance objectives relating to the position.

Reporting directly to the Waste Services Manager, the focus of this position is to:

  • Manage all site operations at Council’s waste facilities including the weighbridge facilities at West Nowra, Huskisson and Ulladulla and the smaller transfer facilities at Berry, Kangaroo Valley, Callala, Sussex Inlet, Bendalong, Lake Conjola and Kioloa.
  • Ensure that the licensed facilities at West Nowra, Huskisson and Ulladulla are operated in accordance with Environmental Protection Agency requirements, Council’s Management Plan and regulations.
  • Maximise recycling and reuse opportunities to minimise waste to landfill, managing materials processing operations and developing infrastructure for processing new and different materials.

Skills & Experience
In order to be successful in the position, you will be/ possess:

  • Tertiary qualification (preferably university) in management, civil engineering construction or similar.
  • Experience in the management of a large workforce across a big geographical area
  • Ability to manage a multi-faceted operation across multiple, remotely located sites.
  • Current Class C Driver’s License
  • Willing to obtain or hold a current Safe Work NSW Construction Induction Training Card (i.e. White card)
