Information Systems & Technology - Training & Adoption Officer

About the role
This is a permanent, full-time, Monday to Friday 9.00am to 5.00pm position working 35 hours per week. This position is located at the Nowra Administration Building.

The primary purpose of the position is to develop, deliver and review training content, plans and schedule, to support corporate information systems and technology adoption in coordination with Councils Workplace Learning team. 

The advertised salary is based on the grade of the position, comprising 4 steps within the range shown. The starting salary is at Step 1 within the grade. Progression through the salary steps shall be based upon the achievement of performance objectives relating to the position.

Duties
Reporting directly to the IS&T Project Manager, the focus of this position is to:

  • Develop and deliver regular training content / courseware for systems and technology adoption in coordination with Council’s Workplace Learning team.
  • Develop training strategies, schedules and plans to support the use of Council’s systems and build organisation capability.
  • Support and assist with the delivery of Council IT and systems projects through change, training and adoption activities.
  • Liaise with staff at all levels of the organisation in relation to identifying and documenting training needs as they relate to the Council’s systems and technology.
  • Coordinate the evaluation and review of systems and IT training programs on a regular and systematic basis to ensure relevancy and consistency with best practice standards within the industry.
  • Liaise with external providers of training to determine the most appropriate usage of training in line with identified needs.
  • Report on training attendance and completion rates for systems and IT related courses.

Skills & Experience
To be successful in the position, you will possess:

  • Tertiary qualification in a training, learning development or technology related field or demonstrated experience in similar system support, implementation, change or training role
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to communicate with staff effectively across all organisational levels and roles.
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to work under pressure, set priorities, plan, and organise workloads and investigate and solve problems with minimal supervision and good attention to detail.
  • Ability to work as an effective team member and establish and maintain business relationships with internal staff and external service providers.
  • Ability and enthusiasm to provide high quality customer service to develop and follow standardised processes to ensure quality outcomes.
  • Class C Driver’s Licence.
