Facilities General Hand

Shoalhaven City Council is seeking a Facilities General Hand to support the Building Services Department within the City Services Directorate.

About the role

This is a permanent full-time position, Monday to Friday 38 hours per week. This position commences in Nowra and will require travel to other council locations throughout the Shoalhaven.


Reporting directly to the Team Leader Cleaning, the focus of this position is to:

  • Commercial/industrial cleaning, property maintenance and improvement of Council buildings and assets.
  • Assist in planning, setup and organising events and functions for Council’s Administrative Building, other Council owned facilities and other locations as required.
  • Provide all Council asset users, including Council employees and the general public with the appropriate resources including a safe, clean and healthy environment.

Skills & Experience

In order to be successful in the position, you will be/ possess:

  • Relevant TAFE Certificate or equivalent practical experience.
  • Current National WHS Construction Card (SafeWork NSW).
  • Class C Driver’s Licence.
  • Proof of Australian residency or citizenship (if permanent)
  • Proof of right to work in Australia (if casual/ temporary)

Council requires applicants for this position to undergo a National Criminal History Check during the recruitment process. This check will be at the expense of Council.
